Kirk Chamberlin, Esq. (Attorney) – State Bar Update II

December 10, 2012 - As an indication of his commitment to his clients, his firm and the practice of law, Kirk Chamberlin successfully completed the State Bar’s Lawyers Assistance Program ("LAP").  The LAP program is a voluntary monitoring program that requires weekly group meetings and daily random confirmation of sobriety from any substance, including alcohol.  Kirk was originally admitted into the LAP program in response to non-law related allegations in 2004 of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and domestic dispute, both of which were dismissed.  As part of his graduation from LAP, Kirk has been certified by the State Bar as being drug and alcohol free for well over 3 years.  Most notably, in almost 25 years of practice, Kirk has never received a client complaint or been disciplined related to the practice of law.

Los Angeles-based attorney Kirk Chamberlin remembers exactly where he was and what he was doing when he came up with the original concept for Crayonball™. "I was sitting in a restaurant watching small children trying to color with stick crayons, breaking them, and then getting frustrated and throwing them," he says laughing. "Having six children myself, I could empathize with both the parents and the children."

Kirk immediately came up with the idea to make crayons in shapes that would be easy to hold and extremely durable. "I went home, melted stick crayons, and made the first Crayonball™ prototype by using the inside of a racquetball as the mold."

Update - State Bar of CA :: Kirk Conrad Chamberlin

July 2010 - With Judge Honn’s congratulations; Kirk Chamberlin successfully completed the State Bar’s Alternative Discipline Program. Kirk was originally admitted into the Alternative Program following non-law related allegations in 2004 of contributing to the delinquency of a minor and domestic dispute, both of which were dismissed. While Kirk did agree to a 30 day suspension as part of the Program, the allegations were determined by the State Bar not to involve moral turpitude and, in almost 25 years of practice, Kirk has never received a client complaint or been disciplined related to the practice of law. Most notably, Kirk has successfully addressed substance (alcohol) issues and now serves as a model to other struggling professionals.
